About This Module

In this module, you will learn to make a simple Magazine Holder.

This simple design adds intrigue to your room, especially when you tell the curious guest that you have made the piece yourself. Use it to house your books or magazines and even letters.

You will get a 30" x 12" x 0.5" ( 90cm x 60cm x 1.2cm ) thick slab of wood. ( approx size ) .

Using simple tools,  you will learn to make a functional magazine holder, approximately height 13" x depth 12" x width 15" ( 33cm x 30cm x 38cm ). This will be made from pure joinery, and yes you get to take the final piece home.

The dimension and design are fixed, hence we will focus purely on the execution of the build.

This module spans one day. Thus the focus would be on the practical build of the box and we would not delve deep into the concept of design and the theory of timber. If you wish to learn the details of this craft, you can choose any of our other modules.

FINISHING TECHNIQUES: Due to time constraints, finishing techniques would not be covered in this module. The process will be explained in brief.
